In a significant development for skill enhancement and industrial progress in Bihar, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has initiated the establishment of a state-of-the-art MSME Technology Centre in Khizersarai block of Gaya. This project, spanning 20 acres of land allocated by the Bihar government, is estimated to cost around Rs 170 crore. The center is poised to become a key focal point for industrial growth, innovation, skill development, and job creation in the Magadh region and the broader state.
The foundation-laying event saw the presence of Union MSME Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, Bihar Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar, Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Minister Shreyasi Singh, as well as various public figures, officials, entrepreneurs, and local residents. Alongside this ceremony, the inauguration of the road expansion and enhancement work connecting the Gaya–Islamabad–Khizersarai route to the proposed center also took place. The MSME Technology Centre is set to deliver advanced technical training to over 7,000 youths annually and provide modern technical aid and industrial backing to more than 1,000 MSME units.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary emphasized that this initiative would be a landmark for employment and technical education in the Magadh region. He highlighted that the institute would offer contemporary industrial and technical training to students ranging from Class 8 pass-outs to postgraduate-level learners. The center’s curriculum includes courses such as Diploma in Tool and Die Making, Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Electrical, and Electronic Skills, with training programs varying from six months to one year in duration.
Moreover, the center will conduct specialized vocational courses for women to encourage self-employment and financial autonomy. These programs are anticipated to cover areas like tailoring, embroidery, computer literacy, textile-related training, engineering-based vocational skills, and wellness courses, aiming to equip women with employable skills and broaden livelihood prospects in the region. Leaders at the event underscored the rapid expansion of the MSME sector in Bihar in recent years, with the government noting a surge in MSME units from nearly 6 lakh to over 46 lakh, creating job opportunities for millions of individuals.
