Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed heartfelt condolences for the six individuals from Kishanganj district who lost their lives in a fire tragedy in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He offered prayers for strength to the grieving families during this challenging time. The Chief Minister also declared a financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the deceased’s families.
The devastating incident occurred in Brijeshwari Enclave in Indore between 3 and 4 a.m., claiming the lives of eight people, including six members of a Bihar family. Initial reports suggest that the fire may have started from an electric car parked outside the house, connected for charging, possibly due to a short circuit. The flames quickly spread throughout the building, exacerbated by explosions in LPG cylinders, leaving little time for escape.
The deceased individuals from Bihar, identified as Vijay Sethia (65), Suman (60), Manoj (65), Simran (30), Chhotu Sethia (22), and Rashi Sethia (12), were residents of Kishanganj. Another person lost their life in the fire, while three others sustained severe burns and are receiving medical treatment. Vijay Sethia, a cosmetics businessman, had been living in Kishanganj for nearly twenty years and had traveled to Indore for medical treatment.
Indore Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh reported that the fire was noticed around 4 a.m. during a family gathering, leading to a tragic outcome. The blaze rapidly engulfed the building, causing LPG cylinder explosions. The incident, resulting in seven deaths and three rescues, has deeply saddened the Kishanganj community. Investigations are underway to determine the fire’s exact cause.
