The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) president, Harsh Vardhan, praised the Bihar team for their exceptional performance in winning the Ranji Trophy Plate Group title. Bihar secured a resounding 568-run victory over Manipur in the final match held at the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in Patna. Vardhan highlighted the players’ mental strength, resilience, and character displayed throughout the tournament.
Vardhan emphasized the team’s ability to overcome challenges and perform under pressure with maturity and belief in their skills. He credited the title to the team’s hard work, unity, and dedication to Bihar cricket. Player of the match, Sakibul Gani, expressed gratitude to the people of Bihar and BCA officials for their support and acknowledged the team’s strong performance.
Following the match, an awards ceremony was conducted in the presence of Bihar Cricket Association officials. BCA Secretary Ziaul Arfeen commended the players, team management, and coaching staff for their efforts. He described the victory as a significant milestone for Bihar cricket and encouraged the team to maintain their high standards in future competitions.
Bihar set a formidable total of 522 runs in their first innings, with Manipur managing only 264 in response. In the second innings, Bihar declared at 505 for 6, with Piyush Kumar Singh’s unbeaten double century being a standout performance. The team’s dominant display led to Manipur being bowled out for 195 while chasing a target of 568 runs.
