The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) appreciates Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal’s positive stance on the potential for Bihar to have its own Indian Premier League (IPL) team. Agarwal’s acknowledgment of Bihar’s cricketing prowess has boosted morale within the state’s cricket community, including players and fans.
Anil Agarwal recently praised Bihar’s cricketing talent and expressed optimism about the state’s ability to host an IPL franchise in the future. He highlighted the passion and skill present in Bihar’s cricketing landscape, foreseeing a pathway for an IPL team representing the state.
BCA President Harsh Vardhan noted the significant progress made in enhancing cricket infrastructure in Bihar over the past few years. This progress is evident in the performances of Bihar players at national levels, including the IPL, reflecting the positive impact of ongoing development efforts.
BCA Secretary Ziaul Arfeen highlighted that currently, three Bihar players are part of IPL teams: Vaibhav Suryavanshi with Rajasthan Royals, Saqib Hussain with Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Mohammad Izhar with Mumbai Indians. These players, along with others working as net bowlers, are making valuable contributions to their respective teams.
The BCA expressed gratitude towards former officials, including Rakesh Kumar Tiwari and Nitish Kumar, as well as the current Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and the state cabinet, for their roles in advancing Bihar cricket. The association believes that with support from figures like Anil Agarwal, Bihar’s cricket infrastructure development will accelerate further.
Bihar’s reputation for nurturing talented cricketers continues to grow, with ongoing infrastructure enhancements and guidance. The BCA is optimistic about Bihar’s potential to emerge as a prominent cricketing hub in the future, with the support of the state government and key industrialists.
