In Bihar, the government has introduced new measures to regulate private coaching institutes and protect students’ interests. These guidelines aim to prevent arbitrary practices by coaching centers statewide, including in the capital city of Patna.
Under the fresh directives, coaching institutes must share detailed student information with district authorities to enhance transparency and oversight. Additionally, these institutes are prohibited from conducting classes during official school and college hours to prioritize regular classroom education. However, this rule excludes students who have completed their formal education and attend coaching independently.
The Education Department will develop specific regulations to enforce these guidelines effectively. Officials believe these steps will promote accountability among coaching centers, reduce academic pressure on students, and deter irregular practices. Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing discipline, transparency, and educational quality in Bihar.
Choudhary highlighted that coaching institutes must adhere to the new rules, including providing student details to district administrations and refraining from classes during school hours. These regulations are aimed at fostering a more disciplined and transparent education system in the state. The government’s decision is expected to bring about better oversight in Bihar’s coaching sector and ensure a student-centered approach to education.
