After being appointed as a Member of Legislative Council, Bihar’s Health Minister, Nishant Kumar, has adopted a strong position on governance and healthcare administration in the state. He recently directed Civil Surgeons statewide to enhance hospital facilities and address irregularities within a two-week timeframe. Kumar emphasized a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and announced plans for personal inspections if improvements are not seen.
He warned that stringent actions would be taken against any government officials involved in corruption or negligence. Kumar stressed the importance of conducting operations within the Health Department with honesty and integrity, promising severe consequences for any misconduct. Additionally, he addressed a recent incident at Patna Medical College and Hospital, instructing authorities to prevent similar occurrences.
Following his election, Nishant Kumar received a warm reception from Janata Dal-United leaders and supporters. He expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and vowed to fulfill his duties diligently, aligning with the principles advocated by his father, former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
