Patna, July 29 (IANS) The Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), led by Tej Pratap Yadav, issued a public advisory urging its supporters and the general public to exercise caution regarding Motilal Rai and his associates, alleging that they were attempting to mislead people while facing criminal cases.

In a statement, the party claimed that Motilal Rai, who had previously identified himself as the personal assistant to Tej Pratap Yadav, was named in a First Information Report (FIR) involving allegations of theft and other offences. The party further alleged that he was currently absconding to avoid arrest.

According to the advisory, Motilal Rai, along with an associate identified as Sandeep, a resident of Haryana, and others, was allegedly attempting to resume activities aimed at misleading party workers and the public. The party claimed that Sandeep was also absconding.

The JJD appealed to supporters, well-wishers, and the public not to be influenced by any inducements, claims, or representations made by Motilal Rai, Sandeep, or their associates. It also advised people not to enter into any financial, political or personal dealings with them.

The party further stated that its previous committee had been dissolved and cautioned that any claims made in its name by the accused or their associates should not be trusted.

In its appeal, the party requested that anyone who spotted Motilal Rai or his associates, or was contacted by them, should immediately inform the nearest police station or the appropriate authorities.

The statement added that law enforcement agencies were taking action in the matter and expressed confidence that the accused would be arrested.

However, the allegations mentioned in the party’s advisory have not been independently verified, and any criminal liability would ultimately be determined through the legal process.

Tej Pratap Yadav had filed an FIR against Motilal Rai at the Secretariat Police Station in Patna. He alleged that Rai had stolen cash, jewellery, laptops, iPhones, hard disks and pen drives from the cupboard of the party.
