Protests regarding the alleged NEET paper leak have intensified in various parts of India, including New Delhi and Madhya Pradesh. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress engaged in a political showdown, exchanging accusations over responsibility and the conduct of the examination. Madhya Pradesh BJP president Hemant Khandelwal criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for allegedly misleading students and avoiding a parliamentary discussion on the matter.

Khandelwal mentioned that the Centre was willing to debate the NEET paper leak issue under any rule and for as long as the Opposition desired, but the Congress was evading the debate. He highlighted the government’s decision to expedite the trial of paper leak cases through Fast Track Courts and assured that those involved in the NEET paper leak would face prosecution under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.

The BJP president also stated that the CBI was close to completing its investigation and would soon file a chargesheet against the arrested individuals. Accusing the Congress and the INDIA bloc of politicizing the matter, he emphasized the government’s commitment to finding a lasting solution to paper leaks and enhancing the examination system.

In contrast, Congress leader Jaivardhan Singh raised concerns about the National Testing Agency (NTA) Chairman, Pradeep Joshi, continuing in office despite repeated controversies surrounding NEET. Singh demanded accountability and transparency in the examination system, asserting that students deserved better. He criticized the BJP government for the alleged irregularities in recruitment and entrance exams, which had reportedly led to immense stress among aspirants, resulting in tragic outcomes like student suicides.
