The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Central Election Committee revealed its candidates for the upcoming Karnataka Legislative Council elections. Shashil G. Namoshi, S.V. Sankanur, and K.M. Suresh have been nominated for various constituencies. K.M. Suresh, a close associate of former CM B.S. Yediyurappa, will contest from the South East Graduates’ Constituency.
The official announcement of the candidates was made by Arun Singh, the BJP National General Secretary. K.M. Suresh, hailing from Davanagere, is known for his ties with Yediyurappa and his role as the former Chairman of the Harihar Urban Development Authority. He is also a respected figure in the field of education in Davanagere.
The South East Graduates’ Constituency, encompassing multiple districts like Kolar, Chikkaballapura, and Davanagere, holds significant electoral importance. The current MLC for this constituency is R. Chowda Reddy Thoopalli from the JD-S party. The Karnataka Legislative Council is a key legislative body with 75 members, serving six-year terms.
