The Bharatiya Janata Party has appointed campaign managers for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, indicating its desired constituencies in alliance with the AIADMK. Eight senior BJP leaders will oversee election work in 41 Assembly constituencies across the State, emphasizing the party’s negotiating priorities. This strategic move aims to strengthen the BJP’s presence in regions where it sees electoral potential, particularly focusing on the western belt of Tamil Nadu.
The list of campaign managers highlights the BJP’s interest in the Coimbatore district, with eight constituencies identified as key areas. This includes regions in Tiruppur, Nilgiris, and Krishnagiri districts, where the BJP aims to consolidate its organizational base. Notably, the party finished second in nine Assembly segments in western Tamil Nadu during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, underscoring its focus on this region.
In Kanniyakumari district, known for the BJP’s strong performance, the party has targeted five constituencies where it finished as runner-up in the 2024 elections. Similarly, in southern Tamil Nadu, constituencies like Madurai North, Madurai South, and Thirupparankundram have been identified for attention. The BJP’s emphasis on specific regions reflects its strategic approach towards the upcoming elections.
The party’s focus extends to other districts as well, including Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, and Sivaganga. In Chennai, constituencies like T Nagar, Velachery, Mylapore, and Virugambakkam are in the spotlight, especially after the party’s significant vote share in 2024. These appointments of campaign managers provide insights into the BJP’s electoral strategy and alliance aspirations in Tamil Nadu.
