Early trends in the West Bengal Assembly elections indicate the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leading, with party leaders crediting the success to the anti-infiltration campaign and emphasis on national security. BJP MLA Nand Kishor Gurjar highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on infiltrators as a key agenda during the elections, supported by Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s reputation for decisive action.
Gurjar praised the government’s strong internal security network and determination in addressing issues like Naxalism, citing successful drives against infiltrators in Assam and Delhi. He commended Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for bolstering border security measures, including strengthening fencing to prevent illegal entry into the country.
The BJP leader viewed the election results as a response to criticism from opposition parties like the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, emphasizing that the trends reflected national pride. Gurjar reiterated the importance of identifying and deporting infiltrators for national integrity, citing statements from Bangladesh’s National Citizen Party Bangladesh acknowledging infiltration into India.
Expressing confidence in the future Chief Minister of West Bengal, Gurjar asserted that strict action would be taken against infiltrators from countries like Pakistan, Myanmar, or Bangladesh. He affirmed that no infiltrators would be allowed to remain in the state, underscoring the commitment to ensuring their deportation and enforcing stringent measures.
