Amid the controversy surrounding Ram Mandir donations, BJP Bihar President Sanjay Saraogi criticized the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress for invoking Ayodhya and Lord Ram solely during election periods. He defended the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government regarding the alleged misuse of temple donations, emphasizing that a thorough investigation is underway.
In response to Akhilesh Yadav’s censure of the Uttar Pradesh government over the alleged mishandling of funds meant for the Ram Mandir, Saraogi highlighted the matter. Akhilesh Yadav had earlier questioned the state government’s responsibility in the situation, noting the discrepancy between donations and national priorities.
Saraogi also addressed the issue of accountability, pointing out that despite Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s frequent visits to Ayodhya, the reported irregularities went unnoticed. He criticized the politicization of the matter by the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, emphasizing the ongoing investigation and arrests made in connection with the alleged embezzlement.
The BJP leader further discussed the establishment of new Waqf Boards and the regular meetings of the Ram Temple Trust. He paid tribute to Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his 125th birth anniversary, highlighting Mookerjee’s contributions to national unity and integrity, particularly in West Bengal’s integration with India.
