The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attributed the political turmoil in Assam to Rahul Gandhi’s approach and “immature politics.” Recently, Assam MP Pradyut Bordoloi switched to the BJP, along with his son withdrawing from the Margherita Assembly constituency race. Former Assam Congress President Bhupen Borah also joined the BJP after leaving the Congress.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari criticized Rahul Gandhi’s leadership within the Congress, suggesting that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s potential influence has been overshadowed. Tiwari expressed doubts about the acceptance of the Gandhi family by the nation due to recent events. He emphasized the impact of Gandhi’s attitude on the Congress party, leading to several defections.
Accusing Rahul Gandhi of undermining the Congress with his immature politics, Bihar Minister Dilip Jaiswal highlighted a rift within the party. BJP leader Rohan Gupta pointed out internal conflicts within the Congress, particularly in Assam. Gupta highlighted the lack of trust and dissatisfaction among party leaders, indicating broader issues within the Congress.
The Congress released a new list of candidates for the Assam Assembly elections, maintaining a focus on key constituencies while allocating seats to its ally, Raijor Dal.
