The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has criticized Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for his recent comments targeting the party. Vijayan had claimed that the BJP has no future in Kerala and accused it of being a “B-team” of the Congress. BJP’s national spokesperson, Shahnawaz Hussain, stated that Vijayan’s remarks stem from fear as BJP’s popularity rises in the state.
Hussain emphasized that the BJP is gaining ground in Kerala, evident from their recent victory in the Mayoral elections in Thiruvananthapuram. He expressed confidence in the people of Kerala choosing a BJP government in the upcoming elections. Bihar Minister Ram Kripal Yadav echoed this sentiment, asserting that the BJP is poised to expand its influence beyond traditional strongholds.
In response to Vijayan’s comments, Andhra Pradesh BJP Minority Morcha President Syed Bhasha highlighted the growing support for the party across various communities. Bhasha refuted Vijayan’s claims of BJP’s inability to form a government in Kerala, citing the progress witnessed in Andhra Pradesh under BJP-allied governance. He expressed optimism about the BJP’s electoral prospects in Kerala, attributing development to Prime Minister Modi.
The upcoming Kerala Legislative Assembly elections, scheduled for April 9, will see the state electing 140 members in a single-phase polling across all constituencies.
