The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on the opposition INDIA bloc, labeling it a coalition of “disappointed people” formed due to electoral setbacks. The BJP claimed that the alliance lacks cohesion, trust, and a common political agenda.
Leaders of the INDIA bloc convened in New Delhi to discuss political strategies and coordination among opposition parties. Questions have arisen about the unity and future direction of the alliance, especially amidst reports of disagreements among key members.
While concerns surfaced from parties like the DMK, the CPI (M), and the JMM regarding opposition coordination, the Congress emphasized unity. The party announced the participation of representatives from 23 political parties in the Delhi meeting, asserting that even absent parties had expressed opposition to the policies of the BJP-led Central government.
BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal remarked that the opposition parties are regrouping following electoral defeats, highlighting their demoralization and attempts to unite as a group of disheartened individuals. He criticized the lack of unity within the opposition, stating that each party is functioning independently.
