BJP Bihar President Sanjay Saraogi highlighted PM Modi’s global leadership and his efforts to address India’s concerns, especially regarding the security of the vital maritime route through the Strait of Hormuz.
Senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi emphasized PM Modi’s consistent stance on promoting stability, security, and peace through dialogue rather than conflict in various regions. BJP National Spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain viewed the conversation as a positive step towards strengthening the enduring friendship between India and Iran, emphasizing India’s impartial relations with different nations.
The telephonic exchange between PM Modi and President Pezeshkian focused on the latest West Asia developments and the need for diplomatic resolutions. PM Modi reiterated India’s stance on resolving issues through dialogue and diplomacy, emphasizing the importance of ensuring peace and stability in the region. He also underscored the significance of safeguarding freedom of navigation in the crucial Strait of Hormuz for India’s energy security and global trade.
PM Modi, in a social media post following the conversation, expressed optimism for lasting peace in West Asia and reiterated the importance of freedom of navigation in the Hormuz Strait. The call between the leaders comes amidst diplomatic efforts to maintain the fragile understanding between Iran and the US after prolonged tensions in the region. President Pezeshkian had also extended an invitation to PM Modi to attend the burial ceremonies of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
