Police in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district have filed an FIR against a BJP leader and another individual for allegedly molesting and intimidating a female doctor at Bundelkhand Medical College. The accused, including BJP Yuva Morcha state working committee member Anil Shrivastava, are being sought by authorities. The incident has led to protests by doctors, disrupting healthcare services at the college.

The FIR, based on the doctor’s complaint, has been lodged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Law enforcement officials are conducting raids to apprehend the accused individuals. The alleged misconduct occurred in the early hours of Friday within the college premises, where Shrivastava purportedly made inappropriate advances towards the doctor and threatened her with a firearm.

In response to the severity of the accusations, police are intensifying efforts to locate and arrest the suspects. Investigations are ongoing to delve deeper into the matter. The incident has incited widespread condemnation among medical staff, prompting a strike to demand swift action and justice, causing a significant disruption in medical services.

Doctors have insisted on the immediate arrest of the accused and are advocating for stringent measures to safeguard healthcare professionals. The strike has disrupted regular healthcare services, inconveniencing patients and their families. Hospital operations have been hampered, with doctors emphasizing that work will resume only after the perpetrators are apprehended and legal action is taken.

Security has been bolstered in and around the college campus to uphold order and prevent any disturbances. Authorities are committed to the investigation and are striving to swiftly apprehend the accused individuals.
