BJP leader Abhijit Das, also known as Bobby, filed a complaint at Nodakhali police station in South 24 Parganas district against Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee. He alleged that approximately Rs 30 crore was misappropriated in the Budge Budge-II block through the use of fraudulent documents. Das claimed that a significant portion of the funds allocated by the central government for Cyclone Amphan victims did not reach the rightful beneficiaries.

Another complaint was lodged against Abhishek Banerjee at Bishnupur police station in the same district for making threatening remarks. The complaint was filed by Bishnupur BJP leader Abhijit Sardar, who contested as a BJP candidate in the 2026 Assembly elections. Sardar raised concerns about statements made by Abhishek that could potentially intimidate political workers and officials. The police are currently investigating the matter based on the filed complaints.
