The controversy dates back to 2003 when reports of namaz being offered near Hanumangarhi sparked political discussions in Uttar Pradesh. Recently, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticized the Samajwadi Party and Congress for allegedly allowing namaz on the temple steps. The incident has reignited debates on religious practices and historical narratives in Ayodhya.
