Senior BJP leader R. Ashoka criticized Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, labeling him a “mask Chief Minister.” Ashoka accused Shivakumar of deceiving the people and claimed that illegal immigrants from Bangladesh were being used as a vote bank by the Karnataka government.
Speaking at an event honoring newly elected MLC Raghu R. Kautilya in Mysuru, Ashoka accused the state government of engaging in vote bank politics. He highlighted that Raghu R. Kautilya’s nomination to the Legislative Council aimed to provide political representation to marginalized communities as part of BJP’s commitment.
Ashoka urged citizens to participate in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls to ensure the inclusion of only eligible voters. He raised concerns about Bangladeshi and Pakistani nationals in India allegedly benefiting from government schemes and criticized the move to include Bangladeshi nationals in Karnataka’s electoral rolls.
Continuing his critique, Ashoka took a dig at CM Shivakumar regarding government tenders, implying irregularities in tender processes. He emphasized the need to halt the inclusion of Bangladeshi nationals in electoral rolls, stating that only the Central Government holds the authority to grant citizenship.
Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, highlighted the BJP’s efforts to empower working-class communities and ensure their political representation.
