BJP leaders have escalated their criticism of West Bengal’s Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, asserting that she is losing public support and political strength. They highlighted a decline in her party’s influence in the state, cautioning that she might soon fade from the political scene in West Bengal. BJP National Spokesperson, Shahnawaz Hussain, emphasized that Mamata Banerjee’s electoral defeat has left her party in a vulnerable position, suggesting a diminishing presence in the state.
Taking a firm stance, BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal condemned Mamata Banerjee’s reluctance to step down, labeling her actions as undemocratic and likening them to fascism. He criticized her for not respecting the mandate given by the people, contrasting her stance with the prompt resignations of leaders in other states. Khandelwal accused Mamata Banerjee of engaging in political theatrics and emphasized the importance of upholding democratic norms and the country’s constitutional framework.
Furthermore, BJP Bihar State President Sanjay Saraogi urged Mamata Banerjee to acknowledge her defeat gracefully, pointing out the clear rejection by the public as evidenced by the significant margin of her loss. Meanwhile, BJP National Spokesperson C.R. Kesavan accused Mamata Banerjee of disregarding democratic values and betraying constitutional principles by refusing to resign. He criticized her behavior as a direct affront to the democratic ethos and a disrespectful act towards the legacy of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
