Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Punjab unit have called on Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to emulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s move of downsizing his convoy to save fuel. Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar emphasized the need for Mann to reduce his convoy, citing it as a signal for the Opposition to follow suit. Jakhar highlighted the importance of national security in light of the ongoing West Asia conflict and expressed confidence that Mann would heed Modi’s appeal.
Punjab BJP Vice President Fatehjang Singh Bajwa echoed the sentiment, urging other politicians to minimize their security detail to reduce government expenses. Ashwani Sharma, the Punjab BJP Working President, praised Modi’s leadership in the face of global fuel price surges and encouraged others to adopt similar measures. Sharma specifically pointed out the need for Mann to scale down his convoy size and drew comparisons with Arvind Kejriwal’s entourage.
Sharma underscored the public’s historical adherence to Modi’s crisis-time appeals and suggested that the Prime Minister’s initiative to trim his convoy would inspire common citizens. He expressed optimism that India would overcome the current global challenges successfully, buoyed by Modi’s example and leadership.
