Jodhpur City BJP MLA Atul Bhansali has established a unique solution to handle the influx of transfer requests from government employees in Rajasthan during the transfer season. He has created a “Transfer Temple” at his office where applicants can submit their requests in front of an image of Lord Shri Ram. A collection box is also available for employees to drop off their applications.
Bhansali explained that the purpose of this initiative is to streamline the process of managing individual requests, allowing him to concentrate on broader public issues. He clarified that despite common beliefs, the approval of requests is not guaranteed once they reach an MLA, emphasizing that transfer decisions are governed by administrative requirements, government policies, and established rules.
The MLA highlighted the challenges of accommodating every request, especially in a city like Jodhpur where numerous employees are vying for postings. Bhansali mentioned that the idea for the “Transfer Temple” stemmed from the increasing number of recommendation requests received by elected representatives over the years. He also noted that senior political leaders have advised public representatives to prioritize governance and development work over personal requests.
The initiative was launched following the lifting of the ban on transfers and postings of government employees by the Rajasthan government from June 19 to July 5. While this relaxation allows for a 16-day window for transfer activities across departments, Grade III teachers and Medical and Health Department employees are excluded. Bhansali assured that all applications submitted through the “Transfer Temple” will be reviewed in compliance with government policies and procedures.
This unconventional approach to managing transfer requests has garnered public attention for its innovative nature and departure from traditional methods.
