Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi criticized the Congress party, accusing it of colluding with Pakistan’s ISI in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Trivedi highlighted former Home Ministry Under Secretary RVS Mani’s claim of a “match-fixing” between ISI and Congress, suggesting political bias influenced the UPA government’s response to terror incidents.
Trivedi emphasized Congress’s alleged inclination towards Muslims and Maoism, claiming the government was inclined to push a “Hindu terror” narrative post the 26/11 attacks. He pointed out that Maharashtra Police’s Tukaram Omble’s sacrifice prevented blaming the attacks on “Hindu terrorism,” as the UPA regime allegedly intended.
The BJP leader questioned the handling of key terrorist David Coleman Headley, criticizing the government’s soft approach towards Pakistan post the Mumbai attacks. Trivedi also criticized the UPA for not allowing the Army to act decisively against Pakistan despite crucial intelligence, citing instances like the Ishrat Jahan encounter affidavit changes.
Trivedi accused the UPA of diverting terror cases like the Samjhauta Express blast to create a “saffron terror” narrative, allowing Pakistani suspects to evade justice. He condemned these actions as driven by “petty vote-bank politics,” compromising national security and counter-terrorism efforts.
