Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi lauded Syama Prasad Mookerjee’s emphasis on Swadeshi during a speech. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives in indigenous manufacturing, making India the world’s second-largest mobile manufacturing hub. Trivedi noted BJP’s commitment to Dr. Mookerjee’s legacy, contrasting it with Congress’s stance on such commemorations.
Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra, at a memorial seminar, praised Mookerjee’s contributions to Indian nationalism. He highlighted Mookerjee’s principles of cultural unity, one Constitution, and one national flag. Malhotra emphasized Mookerjee’s relentless efforts for Jammu and Kashmir’s integration with India, opposing the existence of “two Constitutions, two Prime Ministers, and two flags in one nation.”
Sudhanshu Trivedi, speaking at another seminar, recalled Mookerjee’s opposition to the Nehru-Liaquat Pact, foreseeing its failure to safeguard Hindus in Pakistan. Trivedi commended PM Modi’s corrective actions, such as the Citizenship Amendment Act. He also mentioned the completion of Mookerjee’s vision through the abrogation of Article 370 by PM Modi.
