BJP MP Trivendra Singh Rawat has extended legal assistance to Keshav Negi, a cook arrested in connection with the tragic Malviya Nagar hotel fire that claimed 21 lives, including 13 foreigners, and injured many others on June 3. The fire occurred at the multi-storeyed Flourish Stay B&B, leading to the arrest of the property owner, Lavkesh Bajaj.
Rawat, along with Garhwal MP Anil Baluni, met with Delhi Police officials to ensure a fair investigation into Negi’s arrest. Stressing the need for transparency and justice, Rawat expressed his support for Negi and emphasized the importance of upholding Uttarakhand’s dignity while ensuring justice for all.
The hotel in question was found to be operating beyond its permitted capacity, with officials noting that it had approval for only six rooms but was functioning with over 20. Moreover, the hotel had reportedly been running for several years without the necessary No Objection Certificate from the Delhi Fire Services.
Investigations into the fire incident are ongoing, with more details expected to emerge in due course.
