After Assam MP Pradyut Bordoloi left Congress to join BJP, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey suggested that more Congress leaders might follow suit soon. Dubey criticized Congress’s current state, questioning its strength and ability to engage effectively in debates.
Dubey highlighted the absence of Congress members in Parliament, hinting at a possible decline of the party. He mentioned the departure of Bordoloi and speculated about Gaurav Gogoi’s potential resignation in the future. BJP’s Shehzad Poonawalla also criticized Congress, claiming the party is fracturing due to lack of faith in Rahul Gandhi.
Senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi echoed similar sentiments, criticizing Congress’s leadership for failing to manage internal affairs. Bordoloi, a former Assam minister, joined BJP, citing repeated humiliation and a non-conducive environment within Congress’s Assam unit.
Bordoloi expressed deep disappointment over his decision to leave Congress, citing mental distress and internal exhaustion. He mentioned feeling insulted by senior Congress figures, leading to a sense of isolation and emotional turmoil.
