After Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent visit to West Bengal, BJP President and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda is scheduled to visit Kolkata this month to assess the party’s organizational readiness for the upcoming assembly elections. Nadda is expected to attend a health-related seminar in the city on January 8, followed by an organizational meeting where he will address party workers. This visit comes as part of the party’s preparations for the crucial assembly polls next year.
Political analysts view the back-to-back visits of top BJP leaders to West Bengal as a clear indication of the party’s seriousness towards the upcoming elections. During his visit, Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the importance of countering the propaganda spread by the Trinamool Congress, particularly regarding the voting rights of the Matua community. He also instructed state leaders to engage with the community regularly to address their concerns and ensure the protection of their voting rights.
In addition to addressing the Matua issue, Amit Shah directed state leaders to combat the narrative of a covert understanding between the BJP leadership and the Trinamool Congress, propagated by the CPI(M)-led Left Front and some Congress leaders in the state. The party is gearing up to strategize and strengthen its position in West Bengal, with a focus on countering opposition narratives and connecting with key voter groups.
