Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Nabin, at an event in Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, launched 500 electric buses while praising the current government’s focus on development. Nabin criticized the previous Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government for failing to deliver on their promises despite extravagant advertising. He emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed Delhi with modern infrastructure and improved citizen services.
Under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s leadership, significant progress has been made in various developmental projects, according to Nabin. He highlighted the current government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and anti-corruption measures, contrasting it with the previous administration’s lack of tangible results on the ground. Chief Minister Gupta announced plans to expand the electric bus fleet in Delhi to 7,500 by 2026 and 14,000 by 2028.
Delhi now boasts the largest fleet of electric buses in the country, with over 4,000 vehicles in operation. Chief Minister Gupta inaugurated a new inter-state electric bus service between Delhi and Panipat, providing a cleaner and safer travel option for commuters. The event marked the first anniversary of the BJP government’s re-election in Delhi, with Chief Minister Gupta expressing gratitude for the public’s trust and emphasizing the government’s commitment to service and development.
