The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) protested near the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru, criticizing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s State Budget as resembling an “empty pot.” Led by BJP state President B.Y. Vijayendra and other party leaders, the protesters accused the government of burdening the state with a debt of Rs 3.5 lakh crore in three years.
During the demonstration, protesters displayed empty pots symbolically, highlighting their claim that the Congress government had failed to meet the needs of the people. They raised slogans condemning the government for neglecting various sectors, including youth, farmers, and the poor, and accused the Chief Minister of offering empty promises to the citizens.
MLAs, including former Deputy Chief Minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan and Sunil Kumar, criticized the State Budget, expressing disappointment over its lack of support for crucial sectors like education, healthcare, and agriculture. They highlighted the government’s alleged failure to address demands related to coastal development, tourism, and essential infrastructure projects in various districts.
