BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla criticized the Congress, alleging the party engages in anti-national activities and disrespects India’s cultural symbols. Poonawalla specifically mentioned Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, accusing them of insulting national icons and traditions while spreading misinformation about the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He condemned a recent shirtless protest by Congress leaders, stating that such actions go against Indian values.
Poonawalla also accused the Youth Congress of trying to disrupt a national event and claimed that the party’s leadership supported these actions. He highlighted instances where Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi allegedly showed disrespect towards cultural symbols, including Assam’s traditional ‘Gamosa’.
Furthermore, Poonawalla targeted Rahul Gandhi for his legal issues, claiming that Gandhi has made defamatory remarks about the RSS. He labeled Gandhi as a habitual liar and mentioned an upcoming court appearance in Maharashtra related to a defamation case. The BJP Spokesperson’s comments come amidst escalating tensions between the BJP and the Opposition INDIA Bloc following the Indian Youth Congress’ recent shirtless protest and public statements.
