BJP spokesperson C. R. Kesavan strongly responded to Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi’s statement accusing the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government of lacking direction and strategy. Gandhi expressed concerns about the impact of the West Asia conflict on fuel prices, everyday items, MSMEs, and the stock market. In contrast, Kesavan defended PM Modi’s leadership, citing his international stature and efforts to ensure India’s energy security.

Kesavan criticized Gandhi for what he termed as a lack of understanding of global geopolitics. He highlighted the public’s confidence in PM Modi’s leadership and dismissed Gandhi’s claims of LPG scarcity, inflation, and fuel price hikes as baseless propaganda. Kesavan praised PM Modi’s diplomatic skills and commitment to safeguarding India’s national interests in the face of the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

Backing Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s positive assessment of PM Modi’s foreign policy, Kesavan questioned the internal discord within the Congress party. He emphasized the need for introspection within the party and criticized Gandhi’s actions as detrimental to India’s national interests. Tharoor had earlier commended India’s stance on the West Asia conflict as an example of responsible statecraft.
