At Hezamara in Tripura, two BJP functionaries were seriously injured in an attack by Tipra Motha Party (TMP) activists, as confirmed by the police. The TMP, led by Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma, has been a BJP ally since March 2024. The incident occurred when the BJP workers were returning home after overseeing the construction of a party office in a tribal-inhabited area.

Chief Minister Manik Saha has instructed the police to take strict action against the attackers in response to the incident. The injured BJP booth president and party worker were admitted to Govind Ballabh Pant Medical College and Hospital for treatment. BJP’s state General Secretary Bipin Debbarma visited the hospital to monitor the medical care of the injured party workers.

Reacting to the incident, Chief Minister Manik Saha emphasized that those involved in violent activities will face consequences, stating that the police had previously arrested the attackers. BJP leaders accused TMP activists of previous attacks on party workers in various parts of the state.
