The BJP Yuva Morcha organized a protest at Freedom Park in Bengaluru to denounce the Youth Congress demonstration at the India AI Impact Summit in Delhi. BJP workers carried posters with slogans targeting Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Police intervened, confiscating the banners and escorting BJP leaders away.
State President and MLA Dheeraj Muniraj of BJP Yuva Morcha criticized the Congress members for their protest during the AI Summit, calling it a display of poor culture. He condemned their behavior at an international forum, stating that it brought disrepute to the country in the presence of foreign delegates. Muniraj demanded an unconditional apology from Youth Congress members.
During the AI Summit, Bengaluru South District President and MLA C.K. Ramamurthy noted the participation of representatives from 30 to 35 countries. He criticized the Youth Congress workers for staging a protest that he described as “semi-nude,” deeming it disrespectful to India. Bengaluru North District President S. Harish accused the Congress of naming all its programs after leaders like Nehru, Indira, and Rajiv Gandhi, contrasting this with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s approach of not naming schemes after himself.
Leaders including Dheeraj Muniraj, C.K. Ramamurthy, S. Harish, Saptagiri Gowda, Umesh Shetty, and other BJP members were present at the protest. The incident at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, where Youth Congress workers conducted a shirtless protest, has sparked political controversy over the India–US trade deal. The BJP held protests in various cities across India on Saturday, condemning the shirtless demonstration at the summit.
