Nitin Nabin, the new national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, took charge at the party headquarters in New Delhi following his formal appointment. He was joined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other senior leaders like Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, and outgoing president Jagat Prasad Nadda. PM Modi also met Nabin’s family, offering congratulations and engaging in light-hearted conversations.
At 45 years old, Nitin Nabin’s elevation signifies a new era and generational shift within the BJP, emphasizing the party’s focus on cultivating young leadership under his guidance. During a gathering with BJP members, PM Modi referred to Nabin as his ‘boss,’ emphasizing his own role as a party worker. Modi praised Nabin’s blend of “youth energy” and extensive organizational experience, highlighting their potential benefits for the party.
Expressing his commitment, Nitin Nabin stated that assuming the presidency symbolizes not just a position but also the embrace of the party’s ideology, traditions, and the responsibility of a nationalist movement. He emphasized the party’s ethos of politics as a spiritual practice, sacrifice, and responsibility rather than a pursuit of power or luxury. Nabin’s election saw widespread support, with 37 nomination sets backing him, including from the Parliamentary party.
Following his election, Nitin Nabin has been granted Z-category security, with the CRPF’s VIP security wing ensuring his safety during travels, public engagements, and at his residence.
