Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Sudhanshu Trivedi criticized Sonia Gandhi for questioning India’s foreign policy regarding West Asia tensions and the Gaza crisis. Trivedi highlighted Gandhi’s remarks on social media and in an English newspaper where she criticized the government’s response to the situation in Gaza. He pointed out recent electoral losses of the opposition alliance, including the Congress, and accused Gandhi of trying to gain political advantage by expressing sympathy for Gaza.
Sudhanshu Trivedi also mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent invitation to Iran’s Supreme Leader’s funeral as evidence of strong relations with Iran. He questioned why those who remained silent on Hindu killings in Bangladesh and Pakistan were now vocal about Gaza. Trivedi further accused Congress of ignoring the 2023 killings of Israelis by Palestinian militant groups while condemning the Gaza situation. He urged Congress to clarify its stance on these issues to avoid indirectly supporting terrorist organizations.
