The West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is making elaborate arrangements for a massive rally at the Brigade Parade Ground in central Kolkata on March 14. This rally, part of the BJP’s Parivartan Yatra across the state, will feature Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the key speaker. Preparations for the event are in full swing with multiple stages being set up at the venue.
Raju Banerjee, the BJP’s state vice-president in West Bengal overseeing the rally’s preparations, mentioned that organizational work is progressing swiftly. The party anticipates a significant turnout from all parts of the state to hear the Prime Minister speak. However, the exact number of stages to be erected for the rally remains undisclosed.
Banerjee emphasized that the law and order situation in West Bengal has deteriorated significantly. He criticized Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for allegedly disregarding the Indian Constitution and failing to uphold the rule of law. Banerjee also welcomed the appointment of R.N. Ravi as the new Governor of West Bengal and urged him to restore constitutional and legal order in the state.
The BJP leader further criticized the Chief Minister for politicizing the issue of rising cooking gas prices. He questioned why state taxes on LPG were not waived if she truly cared about the common people. Banerjee also highlighted the high electricity prices in West Bengal, calling for introspection on the Chief Minister’s part regarding her responsibilities.
