The bodies of a brother and sister who had been missing for five days were discovered in separate locations in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, causing shock and outrage in the community. Police believe the children were murdered, leading to the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case.
The missing children, 12-year-old Tamanna Parveen and her three-year-old brother Rizwan, disappeared from the Katkamdag police station area on May 27. Tamanna’s body was recovered from the Sindoor river in the Korra police station area late Sunday night, while Rizwan’s body was found in a well in the Sindoor area on Monday afternoon.
After the children went missing, their father reported the case to the Katkamdag police station, initiating a search effort by both the police and family members. The tragic discovery of the bodies has left the family devastated and stirred anger and worry among local residents.
The victims’ family, originally from Uttar Pradesh, makes a living by selling toys in Hazaribagh. Allegations have been made that the police did not respond promptly upon learning about the disappearance, with claims that timely action could have prevented the tragic outcome.
Hazaribagh Superintendent of Police Aman Kumar has launched an immediate investigation, leading to the formation of an SIT under Additional Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar. Forensic and technical teams have been mobilized to aid in the inquiry.
ASP Amit Kumar mentioned that the police are exploring all angles of the case and conducting raids to apprehend those responsible. Authorities remain hopeful that the case will be resolved swiftly.
Investigators are currently reviewing postmortem reports, technical evidence, and other leads to ascertain the cause of death and unravel the full extent of the conspiracy behind this tragic incident.
