The assault on Pankaj Tripathi’s elder brother has stirred a political dispute in Bihar. The Opposition party, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has raised concerns about the state’s law and order situation following the incident. RJD MP Manoj Jha emphasized the significance of the attack due to the victim’s association with a well-known public figure.
Responding to the criticism, JD(U) National Spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan assured that strict actions would be taken against the perpetrators by the state government. Ranjan emphasized that criminals would face severe consequences in Bihar.
The altercation arose after Pankaj Tripathi’s brother, Vijendra Nath Tiwari, was reportedly attacked with sticks and a sharp weapon in a life-threatening assault related to a land dispute. The incident took place in the actor’s ancestral village in Bihar’s Gopalganj district.
Vijendra Nath Tiwari was initially treated at Gopalganj Model Hospital before being transferred to a medical facility in Patna for further medical attention. The police swiftly responded to the incident, arresting one suspect identified as Rajesh Sah, who is now in judicial custody.
Gopalganj Superintendent of Police Vinay Tiwari mentioned that legal proceedings would commence once a formal complaint is lodged by the victim’s family. Despite the family of the renowned actor choosing not to comment publicly, the incident has reignited discussions on the deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar.
