Mumbai saw a significant presence of Bollywood stars at various polling stations during the BMC election day. Celebrities like Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, and Janhavi Kapoor voted at St Anne’s School in Bandra. Meanwhile, veteran actors Saira Banu and Gulzar also cast their votes there.
At Duruelo Convent School in Bandra West, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan made a stylish appearance to exercise their voting rights. Superstar Salman Khan, along with Subhash Ghai and Amrita Arora, were spotted voting at Mount Mary Convent in Bandra at different times of the day.
Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna voted at Gandhi Shikshan Bhavan in Juhu, while Shabana Azmi and Shraddha Kapoor also participated in the voting process at the same location. Hema Malini, Paresh Rawal, Sonali Bendre, Bhagyashree, Kartik Aaryan, and Arjun Kapoor were seen at Jamnabai Narsee School in Juhu.
Notable personalities like John Abraham and Nushrratt Bharuccha cast their votes at Rizvi College in Bandra and St Xavier’s in Juhu, respectively. The BMC elections commenced on January 15 across 29 municipal corporations, starting at 7.30 AM and ending at 5.30 PM.
The State Election Commission reported that there were 39,147 polling stations with 43,958 Control Units and 87,916 Ballot Units. In Mumbai alone, there were 10,111 polling stations equipped with 11,349 Control Units and 22,698 Ballot Units. Municipal corporation elections took place in various cities, including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nagpur, and others.
