A bomb threat directed at the iconic Taj Hotel in Mumbai led to heightened security measures as police and security agencies conducted a thorough search operation on the premises. The threat, which claimed that “Dawood has planted a bomb at the Taj Hotel,” was reported to authorities by a caller to the Navi Mumbai Police Control Room. Teams from various police units, including the Colaba Police and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, swiftly responded by conducting a comprehensive security sweep of the hotel’s facilities.
Following an extensive inspection of the Taj Hotel, law enforcement officials confirmed that no suspicious items or explosives were discovered, ultimately determining that the bomb threat was a false alarm. Investigations into the origin of the threatening call revealed that it came from the Turbhe area of Navi Mumbai. Authorities are actively pursuing the identification and apprehension of the caller based on the mobile number used, collaborating with the Turbhe Police in this effort.
The Taj Hotel, located in Mumbai’s Colaba area, holds historical significance as one of the main targets during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, which resulted in significant casualties and injuries. Notably, a similar bomb threat was received by the Mumbai Police concerning Delhi’s Red Fort, triggering a comprehensive search operation at the historic monument. However, after a meticulous inspection, officials confirmed that there were no explosives present, and the threat was also determined to be unfounded.
