A bomb threat via email led to a tense situation at People’s University in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The threat, received by the college dean, claimed cyanide bombs were placed in the building along with religious slogans. Prompted by this threat, the university management contacted local police and evacuated the premises for safety.
Police, including bomb disposal and dog squads, conducted a thorough search of the campus but found no suspicious items by the designated time. Despite the lack of findings, the search operation continued. The threatening email contained specific details about a potential attack, mentioning the planting of twin IEDs with cyanide gas.
Authorities are investigating the email’s origin and content, with the cyber cell examining the sender’s ID and server location. While initial assessments lean towards the possibility of a hoax or false alarm, security measures remain in place as a precautionary measure.
