A bomb threat sent via email to the Amreli Collector’s Office in Gujarat led to a security alert and a prompt response from local authorities. The threatening email, sent by an unidentified person, warned of an imminent explosion at the office premises. In response, police teams quickly arrived at the scene and secured the area.
The email, containing about 10 lines of threatening language, triggered immediate action by the administration. Following the receipt of the email, the Collector’s Office was cordoned off, and a thorough search operation was conducted with the help of local police and security personnel. Despite the heightened security measures, no suspicious items or explosives were discovered during the search.
Authorities confirmed that a formal complaint was lodged at the Amreli City Police Station against the unknown sender. Legal action has been initiated under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for issuing criminal threats and causing public fear. The seriousness of the threat prompted the involvement of the Special Operations Group (SOG) in the investigation.
Police officials emphasized the gravity of the situation and ongoing efforts to trace the origin of the threatening email. While investigations continue, technical analysis is being conducted to determine whether the email was sent locally or from outside the district. Although the incident briefly disrupted normal activities at the Collector’s Office, operations resumed smoothly after the search was completed.
