Panic gripped over 10 cities in Rajasthan as various government offices received bomb threats on Tuesday. The threats, sent via email, targeted passport offices and post offices, triggering immediate responses from authorities. Police and security agencies swiftly evacuated the premises and conducted thorough searches to ensure safety.
Reports indicated that bomb threats were directed at passport offices in Banswara, Sikar, Jodhpur, and Jaisalmer districts, as well as Head Post Offices in Ajmer, Bikaner, and Dausa. Similar threatening emails were also received by government offices in Jaipur, Alwar, Sawai Madhopur, and Hanumangarh, prompting senior officials to be alerted and local police stations to be put on high alert.
In response to the alarming emails, security teams and police forces were deployed to the locations, evacuating buildings and intensifying security measures. Despite the extensive search operations, no suspicious items were discovered at any of the sites. In Jaisalmer, the entire post office complex, housing the passport office, was evacuated following a bomb threat via email, leading to the suspension of office operations until further notice.
The threatening email received at the Bikaner passport office raised concerns about potential threats to important documents. It mentioned the possibility of an IED blast and urged the evacuation of staff and the public from the premises. Similar alerts were reported at passport offices in Banswara and Sikar, leading to precautionary evacuations and heightened security measures.
Authorities in Alwar city responded to a bomb threat at the Moti Doongri head post office, which was reportedly sent from Pakistan. The premises were evacuated, and a bomb disposal team conducted a thorough inspection. In Jaipur, both the passport office and the General Post Office were targeted with bomb threats, necessitating evacuations and security measures to ensure the safety of employees and the public.
