A Booth Level Officer (BLO) has disappeared in West Bengal’s East Midnapore district just before the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise’s hearing process. The BLO, identified as Amit Kumar Mondal, a teacher from Bikihat area, has been missing for two days, leaving behind his identity card and related documents at home.

Efforts are underway by the district administration and police to locate the missing BLO. Mondal, responsible for Booth No. 23 in the Katwa Assembly constituency, was last seen by his family heading out for a BLO meeting but never returned home. Despite searches by family members and a missing person report filed, his whereabouts remain unknown.

The disappearance has raised concerns as Mondal’s presence is crucial for the upcoming hearing involving 641 voters. With the hearing approaching, the administration faces challenges due to his sudden absence. Authorities have initiated a search operation, but Mondal’s whereabouts are still undisclosed.
