A delegation from the BRICS Chamber of Commerce & Industry held discussions with Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh to enhance industry collaboration within BRICS and BRICS Plus. The focus was on strengthening ties through innovation, startups, emerging technologies, research partnerships, and entrepreneurship. India’s role as an innovation hub and its expertise in emerging technologies were highlighted as opportunities for global partnerships.
Dr. Singh emphasized the potential for industry organizations to form international alliances that support national development and global progress. The delegation, led by Sameep Shastri, Chairman of BRICS CCI, outlined initiatives promoting trade, business engagement, women entrepreneurship, startup networks, Artificial Intelligence, research cooperation, and sectoral collaboration among BRICS nations.
India’s advancements in sectors like space, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, nuclear energy, and deep technology were acknowledged, creating avenues for international cooperation. The reforms in these sectors over the past decade have spurred economic growth and entrepreneurship, paving the way for partnerships involving government, industry, academia, and innovators.
The minister highlighted the role of platforms like BRICS CCI in connecting Indian startups with innovation ecosystems in partner countries, fostering technology-driven economic ties. Dr. Singh encouraged deeper involvement with the broader BRICS community through sector-specific meetings, innovation forums, and thematic interactions. He also urged the chamber to propose cooperation areas aligned with India’s scientific and technological priorities for more effective engagement.
BRICS CCI shared its initiatives promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, trade facilitation, women-led businesses, research collaborations, and business networking during the meeting.
