A Border Security Force (BSF) trooper lost his life in a fire that broke out in Bandipora district, Jammu and Kashmir. The fire and emergency services department received a report of the incident at Madar, Bandipora, early in the morning. Upon reaching the scene, firefighters found a wooden barrack engulfed in flames, hindering immediate search and rescue efforts.

The wooden barrack, housing BSF jawans, was extensively damaged by the intense fire. Despite the challenging conditions, firefighting operations were promptly initiated and successfully controlled the blaze. Tragically, one individual, identified as Ramesh Kumar from the 62 Battalion BSF, was found dead in the debris.

Ramesh Kumar, a washerman by profession, was a member of the 62 BN BSF. His body was recovered from the burnt barrack and handed over to the battalion’s authorities for further procedures. The fire incident is currently under investigation to determine its cause and prevent future occurrences.
