The Calcutta High Court has directed Abhishek Banerjee, Trinamool Congress General Secretary, to provide his voice samples to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Bidhannagar Court. Failure to comply by July 15, 2 p.m. will result in the withdrawal of protection from police action. Abhishek, the nephew of former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, faces allegations of inciting violence and threatening the Union Home Minister during a campaign rally.

Abhishek has twice missed court appearances to provide his voice samples, with the latest instance on July 8. Despite interim protection until July 31, the court has issued a strict ultimatum. The High Court warned of financial penalties if the deadline is not met and assured police security for Abhishek’s court appearance to prevent any physical harassment.
