Campaigning for the Bankipur Assembly by-election is in its final phase as the polling day on July 30 approaches. Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in Bihar, led a grand roadshow in support of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Rekha Gupta. The roadshow, starting from the party’s election office in Mithapur, witnessed enthusiastic participation from party workers and supporters along various routes.
The roadshow route included Chandpur Bela, Sipara, Postal Park, Chiraiyatand, Goriyatoli, Pirmuhani, and Lohanipur. Tejashwi Yadav interacted with the public, urging them to vote for Rekha Gupta. Another roadshow is scheduled for July 28, led by Tejashwi Yadav, covering areas like Boring Road, Rajapur Pul, and Kidwaipuri. These roadshows are crucial elements of the RJD’s strategy to garner support in the constituency before the election.
Tejashwi Yadav also visited the family of Bunty Yadav, a murdered shopkeeper, and alleged his killing was linked to exposing a sex racket involving police complicity. He demanded strict action against the culprits and criticized Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary for his response. This incident has injected a new political angle into the Bankipur by-election campaign, with the opposition highlighting law and order issues and intensifying its campaign efforts.
