Capgemini has decided to temporarily shut down its on-campus daycare facility in Bengaluru following accusations of child abuse. The company emphasized that the safety and well-being of its employees and their families are its top priorities. It is working closely with authorities to uncover the truth and has closed the daycare as a precautionary step.
Allegations have led to the registration of an FIR against five female caregivers under the Juvenile Justice Act. The daycare, situated at Capgemini’s HAL campus in Brookfield, Bengaluru, came under scrutiny after videos depicting abuse circulated on WhatsApp. The FIR, filed based on a complaint by a district child protection unit official, accuses the caregivers of mistreating and intimidating toddlers.
The complaint details instances of physical abuse, including spraying water into children’s mouths with a toilet jet spray, confinement in bathrooms, and placing them in a washing machine. The victims, aged between two and three years, were reportedly subjected to these appalling acts. Police are actively investigating the matter to ascertain the truth behind these disturbing allegations.
